Rock Show
Photo of rock band Oedipus i was recently hired to shoot. The show had only LED lighting for color fx and no follow-spot. There wasnt a lot of light. After a test I ended up at ISO 1600, f(wide open) and whatever shutter speed those variables dictated. Even this was not always not enough to stop action. However the motion blur I got in many cases was the best part of the shot. The lens, by the way, was a Canon EFS 17-85mm. I turned on the flash on only a couple occasions because in my opinion it ruins the effect of a rock show. Band website is http://oedipusband.com/ My own photog site is www.chiaroscurophoto.com
Vince Neil of Motley Crue
This was at the Vince Neil show Mar. 31, 2012 in Lac du Flambeau, WI. Motley was always my fave and it was great to see Vince in an intimate setting…near home.
